What does it mean to guard our heart?
Proverbs 4:23 says we must guard our heart with all diligence because it determines the issues of life.

Look at the words "determines" and "issues of life". Being happy or sad, worry or peace, angry or calm, doubt or trust, they are all rooted in our hearts.
We are what we think and the Bible also says this "as a man think in his heart, so is he"..well, there is a good news! We are not our thoughts! We can choose to be a puppet (victim) of our thoughts and emotions or we can master them! How? By changing the thoughts? Is that simple? In fact, we are a chronic thinker. We think all day long, our brains are busy think and make noises in our little head. Even when we sleep, our brain never stop working.

What to do then?
First, I believe we must filter whatever comes into our minds. We can allow and choose what kind of thoughts that enter our mind and what are not. Any guidelines here? Phil 4:8 says that we are to think what is holy, pure, lovely, admirable, honorable, right, excellent and worthy of praise.

Many people live unhappy life not because they have bad circumstances, but mostly they embrace the destructive thoughts that are not alligned with the kingdom of God.

Guarding our heart means we must pay attention to what we are thinking and reject automatically thoughts that promote fears, doubts, worry and anything that steal our joy and peace.

Happy guarding! You are not alone!

I call today “Glorious Monday”, tomorrow will be “Amazing Tuesday”, then “Wonderful Wednesday will be a day ahead. And I’ll be prepared for the “Exciting Thursday”. Surely, I’ll be ready for the “Incredible Friday”. Praise God, “Beautiful Saturday” is expecting me. Then “Joyful Sunday” will complete my days.

“So teach us to number our days, so that we may bring a heart of wisdom” Psalms 90:11

Happy Morning, today is a special day for me coz I know this is the day that the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it. What a Fabulous Afternoon! Your Hands and Your presence are guiding me throughout this afternoon. Your tender mercy and faithfulness fill me in this Great Evening. I will lay my head down upon Your arms and rest in a Peaceful Night.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalms 23:6

Living in present moments..what does it mean?

When I was in a hospital for medical check up couple times ago.. I notice some buildings, mall and other facilities nearby the hospital have changed. I used to work in one of that building and suddenly the memory of the past popped up like "well...what if..when...or Oh why..I should have done this and that...if I did this maybe now things could be different.." It was 8 years ago..
Some regrets of the past really make my mood become suddenly low and I became restless and lost my joy. I whispered "it's all in the past, nothing u can do about it."

After the check up, I ordered food and drink at the hospital..the restaurant in this hospital also changed..what actually happened again? All things changed now... I ate my food very slowly..it really didnt taste nice, but I enjoyed each time I chew my food, nice and slowly..then I drank my tea. Before I drank it, I slowly smell the tea and slowly let it flow from my mouth to my throat. I focus on what I eat and drink...just me and my food..knowing that this chance will pass too...Im not hurry...I also pay attention of my surroundings. A middle aged woman talked with high pitch tone over the phone at the next table. Some faces look so sad and gloomy, some patients also ate there. I was so grateful that I could enjoy my food with healthy condition...

Stop!! Smell the rose in the journey...sometimes we are so focusing in the future of our destination and become worry too much for the outcome...and then forgetting the beautiful moment in the present...
Live now...

Thoughts are so important because they shape your world. A famous quote says "you are what you think"...and I couldn't agree more...thoughts are affecting our action, decision and emotional (feeling).the biggest battle takes place in our mind!

The Bible also states in order to be transformed we have to renew our mind..so we MUST pay a SERIOUS attention about what is going on in our thoughts..

I, myself is struggling about this matter. And now I commit to observe my own thoughts during the day or at least one hour. Guess what I found??
Many negative opinions or thoughts that popped up in my mind reacting to some incidents or talks..the more I entertaint those thoughts, the more I become stress and restless and it affects my emotional.

I also observe when I'm alone like driving or eating or walking or watching tv or listening to music/radio or any activities..the mind just can't stop making a lot of judgments and most of them are so negative. So what I'm going to do is everytime when the negative thoughts popped in my mind, I will say "It's going to be ok..I won't agree with u and I refuse to think about it, thanks!" then I start saying something positive about the situation that contrary to my negative thoughts. Well, it's not just about positive thought or words..moreover God's words play the role here..substitute your thoughts and words with God's words...

It's not easy I know..but a lil practice day by day worth the efforts..

Yes, It's been a while since my last blogging..I've been busy here and there..been experiencing some setbacks in my personal life which resulted in pain, bitterness, insecurity, negative thoughts, anxiety, stress and any other toxic emotions you can name. Yes, they robbed my peace and joy..but now..I rise again from the pit, put on a new cloth of joy and embracing the new mercy & love that God provides.
Yes..experiencing a new path of love, a new path of peace and restoration.

Thanks for a new beginning, Lord :)
